Microsoft developed the email application Outlook to make it easier for users to send and receive emails on their computers. Although it is an email client, it also offers a number of other functions, including calendaring, task management, and contact management. Managing email accounts from other email providers is also possible with Outlook. For instance, in Outlook, we can configure the webmail email accounts.

The procedures necessary to configure webmail emails in different versions of outlook are shown below.

 

 

Outlook 2013

1. Open the Outlook app and select “File” from the menu that appears.

 

 

2. Select the “Add Account” option

 

 

3. Choose the option “Manual setup or additional server type,” and then click the “Next” button.

 

 

4. Choose “POP or IMAP”  and click “Next”

 

 

5.

• Type in Your Name and Email.
• Choose IMAP for the account type.
• Enter the incoming and outgoing server information.
• In Logon Information enter the email address and password for the webmail account you wish to connect.
• Click More Settings

 

 

6. Choose Outgoing Server, then check  “My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.”

• Choose Advanced.
• Enter 993 for the Incoming server (IMAP), then choose SSL.
• Enter 465 For Outgoing server (SMTP) and select SSL.
• Click “OK.”

 

 

8. Then choose “Next.” If the account has been set up correctly, the settings will be checked and you will see a success notification.

 

 

9. Select the “Finish” button.

 

 

 

Outlook 2016 and 2019

 

  1. Open the Outlook app and select “File” from the menu that appears.

 

 

2. Select the “Add Account” option

 

 

3.

• Type the email address in.
• Click the ‘Advanced options’ link and check the box to manually set up the account.
• Select the ‘Connect’ button.

 

 

4 . Choose “POP or IMAP”

 

 

5.

• Enter the incoming and outgoing server information.
• Enter the port numbers.
• Select encryption method-SSL/TLS.
• Check the box ‘Require logon using Secure Password Authentication’.
• Select ‘Next’.

 

 

 

6. Enter the Email account’s password and select ‘Connect’.

 

 

7. If the account was correctly configured, you will get a success notification.
